The New York Knicks have taken flight again. They have managed to win two games in a row now after blasting the Portland Trail Blazers to kick off a four-game road trip Thursday night, with Jalen Brunson going off for 45 points.

Brunson’s explosion against the lowly Blazers also landed the former Villanova Wildcats star in elite franchise company, per StatMuse.

And now, Jalen Brunson.

New York Knicks Star Jalen Brunson Torches The Blazers In Epic Offensive Night

Brunson could have reached at least 50 points had he shot a little better from behind the arc. He drained just two of his 10 attempts from deep, but he made up for his salty outside shooting by knocking down 15 of his 17 tries from the foul line. Overall, Brunson went 14/30 from the floor to go with four assists and a steal plus a block in 38 minutes of action.

“What can you say, it’s unbelievable just to watch it, and you know he ended up with 17 free throws and I thought there could be a lot more,” Knicks mentor Tom Thibodeau said following the game (h/t ESPN).

“He’s just clever, he’s shifty and he does everything.”

With Brunson feeling hot, the Knicks will look to continue their winning ways when they continue their West Coast trip with a matchup against the Sacramento Kings this Saturday.

Over the last five Knicks games, Brunson has put up an average of 27.5 points, while making 45.8 percent of his shots.
