Mo Bamba Goes Off On Patrick Beverley For Calling Him A Black-White Guy

Bamba sent a follow-up message where he also tagged influencer, Dr. Umar Johnson.

"Secondly, sitting there with your legs crossed like that & asking your white co-host to publicly question my blackness is one of the reasons why it’s hard to move the culture forward."

Beverley said it was all love for Mamba, but the feeling is clearly not reciprocated.

"But like you say ‘luv gang’, y'all go subscribe to the pod."

Beverley dropped his list on the latest episode of the PatBev Podcast, where he named other players like Jarrett Allen, Myles Turner, C.J. McCollum, and more.

"I'm going Jarrett Allen. Myles Turner. For some reason, they're all bigs. Mo Bamba is definitely in there, love you Mo. Now there are too many bigs, so we have to go guards. Sac? No. Lakers? No. Clippers? Hell no. Dallas? Grant Williams, he's not on Dallas. But Grant Williams. Everybody who's a part of the PA, so C.J. McCollum."

This topic is a slippery slope, as indicated by Beverley's co-host Rone choosing to not weigh in with any serious opinions. Beverley likely won't care, but he probably didn't expect this reaction from his former Philadelphia 76ers teammate. The pair also were teammates on the Lakers last season. 

Beverley and Bamba are rivals on the court once again after Beverley made his way over to the Milwaukee Bucks while Bamba continues to play as a backup big on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Patrick Beverley Pulled Off A Similar Ranking Recently

The reason Beverley decided to open his show with this segment is pretty simple. One of the most viral clips from one of their recent episodes saw Beverley name five white players who seemed the 'blackest' to him. 

"Tyler Herro, Donte DiVincenzo, Alex Caruso, Garrison Mathews, Chet Holmgren. I was about to say boy from the Knicks (Isaiah Hartenstein) but I heard he was Black. I heard he's from Houston, Texas. Someone from his family is Black."

Isaiah Hartenstein's father is a former German professional player and coach named Florian Hartenstein. While he is white-passing, Hartenstein's father is Black which makes him mixed-race. Regardless, this topic of conversation is mildly amusing but has the potential to offend on a larger scale. Players are already objecting to their name being brought up like this.

Beverley won't care and will continue pushing to make the best podcast he can weekly. These segments are mostly unserious, so he'd rather that players ignore these silly segments and put their focus elsewhere.
