On Friday evening, NBA free agency began, and there have been many reported moves made around the league.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most active teams, and have done a good job at retaining their own free agents, in addition to signing new players.
On Monday afternoon, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported that head coach Darvin Ham is making an addition to his coaching staff.
Via McMenamin: "The Lakers are hiring DeMarre Carroll as an asst coach on Darvin Ham's staff, sources told ESPN. Carroll worked for Mike Budenholzer in MIL last season. Ham, Carroll and Bud were all in Atlanta together when ATL went 60-22 w/ Carroll as the starting SF and was No. 1 in the East"
Carroll most recently played in the NBA during the 2020 season when he was on the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets.
