LA Clippers Player Wants to be in All-Star Weekend
© Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The LA Clippers could have multiple players representing them in Indiana at the All-Star Game, and perhaps one more in the three-point contest. Speaking with reporters before Saturday's practice, Clippers guard Norman Powell ended his media availability by saying, "Put me in the three-point contest."

Powell is shooting 45.4% from deep this season, which is 8th in the NBA. Converting on 50% of his wide-open three-point attempts, Powell is third in the NBA on those shots among all players who have attempted as many as he has. One of the best shooters in the league, Powell wants in on All-Star Weekend.

As previously mentioned, the Clippers could have multiple All-Stars this year. Both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have been All-Star caliber players this season, and their new teammate James Harden has a case as well. Embracing his role as 6th Man, Powell has sacrificed some of the total production he is capable of, but is turning in one of the most efficient seasons in the NBA, especially from deep.

Certainly worthy of a spot in the three-point contest, Powell should get an invite from the NBA to make the trip to Indiana. A very competitive player, Powell would be in it to win it if he were selected to compete in the three-point contest. Hoping he gets the call, Powell made his case on Saturday.
