Kings Dominate Raptors in 123-89 Road Win

The Sacramento Kings appear to be getting hot at the right time, winning six of their last eight and kicking off their three-game road trip with a dominant 123-89 win over the Toronto Raptors. Toronto's 89 points on Wednesday night is the lowest point total by a Sacramento opponent this season, as the Kings' defense is clicking. 

The Kings had eight players score 8+ points, led by De'Aaron Fox with 20 and a triple-double from Domantas Sabonis with 13 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists. Sabonis widens the gap as the NBA's triple-double leader this season with 24, now three ahead of Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic. 

While the Kings did not have an effective three-point shooting night, knocking down just 29% of their attempts from deep, they outrebounded the Raptors by 23 and shot an outstanding 68% inside the arc. Sacramento's defense and effort through the first three quarters set them apart from a damaged and shorthanded Raptors squad, as they learned their lesson of coming out slow against inferior opponents. 

Sacramento's Keon Ellis continues to show out on the defensive end, following up his five-block performance on Monday with four steals in the win over Toronto. With Kevin Huerter injured, Ellis is a perfect filler in the starting lineup, providing the Kings with a defensive edge they typically do not have. The Kings move to 7-0 with Ellis as a starter.

Not having to play the starters in the fourth quarter was significant, as the Kings head to America's capital to play the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.
