Kevin Durant approves of Buccaneers RB Giovani Bernard's postgame interaction with media

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant said on Twitter Monday that he approved of Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Giovani Bernard's interaction with the media following the Bucs' 34-23 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bernard was only on the field for 12 snaps in Week 15 (all on special teams) and was involved in one of the biggest plays of the Bengals' huge comeback.

Early in the third quarter, with the Bucs up 17-3 and facing a fourth and one on their own side of the field, Tampa Bay called for a fake punt, with the ball being snapped to Bernard. The former Bengal was unable to come up with the high snap cleanly and was taken down for a loss, putting Cincinnati in great field position.

After trailing 17-0 late in the first half, Joe Burrow and company scored 34 straight points, before the Bucs had a garbage time touchdown in the fourth frame. According to an ESPN report, Sunday was the first time in 90 games that a Tom Brady-led team lost a home game after leading by 17 points.

A 2013 second-round draft pick of the Bengals, Bernard spent the first eight seasons of his career with the organization, before signing with Tampa Bay in April 2021. The pass-catching back has been limited to five games this season, all 40 of his snaps this year have come on special teams and Sunday's miscue was his first touch of the campaign.
