After living in the United States for nine years, Joel Embiid finally got his driver’s license, and now the Philadelphia 76ers star is soliciting input from his social media followers on what should be his first automobile purchase.
Embiid took to Twitter Tuesday night — still rocking his hilariously altered handle, it merits noting — to proudly announce he is now a licensed driver in the U.S.

The Sixers star, who hails from Yaounde, Cameroon, moved to the United States at age 16. After an outstanding prep career at The Rock School in Gainesville, Fla., Embiid of course went on to spend one season on the collegiate level with the Kanas Jayhawks before joining the 76ers as the No. 3 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Following his announcement, Embiid later returned to Twitter to ask what vehicle should be his first ride.
I need car options any recommendations???

The social media wisenheimers of course had a field day with Embiid’s tweet.

Embiid has earned an incredible amount of money during his NBA career, a status only further reinforced by how his max salary for the 2019-20 campaign already has been guaranteed thanks to the NBA’s shortened season. With that in mind — and despite the witty responses on Twitter — his car shopping obviously won’t be limited by finances.
Odds are the Sixers superstar will make his first automobile purchase a flashy — not to mention pricey — one befitting his larger-than-life persona.
