Joe Ingles suffers potentially 'significant' knee injury; MRI set for Monday

The Utah Jazz knew going into action Sunday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves that they would be significantly shorthanded. The Jazz entered the road contest still without All-Stars Donovan Mitchell (concussion protocol) and Rudy Gobert (calf), as well as point guard Trent Forrest (ankle), Danuel House Jr. (health and safety protocols) and head coach Quin Snyder (health and safety protocols).

Utah ended up falling to Minnesota 126-106, but more importantly, the Jazz could've lost yet another key member of their rotation to a serious injury in the first half.

Ingles is in his eighth NBA season and is currently averaging 7.4 points, 3.5 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 25.2 minutes per game through 44 contests (14 starts). The Australian has produced a .408/.351/.773 shooting line and trails only Mitchell and Mike Conley on the team in assists per game.

Following Sunday's loss, the Jazz have now lost five in a row and are 30-21 overall. The group will look to get back on track when they start a six-game homestand against the Denver Nuggets at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
