Heat coach Erik Spoelstra had the most candid answer for his excitement about Terry Rozier trade

While the popular "Heat Culture" mantra has become a staple of the NBA, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra sounded like someone who believes the team just acquired a player who's ready to embrace it with open arms. Ahead of Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Spoelstra spoke about Miami's trade to acquire Terry Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets.

Spoelstra spoke about his excitement and the competitiveness of Rozier but also gave the most candid and direct appreciation of the fact that the guard wanted to be a member of the Heat, as Brady Hawk of Five Reasons Sports detailed.

“Winning matters to him. He respects our uniform. He really wanted to be here, and not everyone wants to play for us. That matters," Spoelstra said of Rozier.

The blunt honesty from the Heat head coach was refreshing, specifically mentioning that "not everyone" wants to play for his team. But for what it's worth, there have been a number of players with the desire to join the Heat in recent years, including All-Star guard Damian Lillard, and Spoelstra deserves the bulk of the praise for that.

The Heat have the potential to be even more dangerous this year after Rozier is acclimated, assuming things pan out, but from a talent perspective, they won't be a team that opponents want to see in the postseason.
