Hawks Officially Hire Quin Snyder as Coach
Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports

The Hawks have hired Quin Snyder as coach, the team announced in a press release.

The move comes one week after they fired Nate McMillan, and Snyder could be on the sideline as soon as Tuesday vs. the Wizards.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Snyder received a five-year contract. A press conference with Snyder and GM Landry Fields is scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. EST.

Snyder, 56, coached the Jazz from 2014-22, compiling a 372-264 record and becoming a player favorite along the way.

Before coaching the Jazz, Snyder spent one season as an assistant with these very Hawks (2013-14). He also worked as an assistant with the Lakers, 76ers and Clippers, and is a former head coach in the G League and the University of Missouri.

He played college basketball at Duke University with former Cavaliers forward and ex-Hawks GM Danny Ferry.

The Hawks (31-30) have won two straight and currently sit in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
