Former Jazz forward Joe Ingles joining Bucks on one-year deal

Joe Ingles is joining forces with Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on a one-year deal, according to his representatives at Priority Sports

Ingles, 34, was most recently with the Portland Trail Blazers, but he never played a game with the team. Ingles spent his entire career with the Utah Jazz before he was traded to the Trail Blazers a week after tearing his ACL during the 2021-22 season. Portland took on the expiring contract of Ingles as part of a three-team deal that also sent Elijah Hughes to the Trail Blazers.

In eight seasons with Utah, Ingles averaged 8.6 points, 3.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds. He's the all-time leader for the Jazz in made three-pointers with 1,071. His 40.85 shooting percentage from beyond the three-point arc is 24th in NBA history and 10th among active players with at least 250 career attempts.

The Bucks were the 2021 NBA champions, but lost in seven games against the Boston Celtics in the 2022 Eastern Conference semifinals. In addition to signing Ingles, Milwaukee also reportedly kept Bobby Portis on a four-year, $49 million deal; guard Jevon Carter on a two-year deal; and guard Wesley Matthews on a one-year deal.

Milwaukee made 14.1 three-pointers per game during the 2021-22 regular season, fourth-most in the NBA. Khris Middleton, Grayson Allen and Pat Connaughton all averaged more than two made three-pointers per game.
