Former All-Star Paul Millsap, Nets agree to part ways

Four-time All-Star forward Paul Millsap is on the trade market, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, after he and the Brooklyn Nets mutually agreed to part ways.

Millsap, 36, has averaged a career-low 11.3 minutes and 3.4 points per game since signing with the Nets in September. He previously made the All-Star Game in four consecutive seasons during his time with the Atlanta Hawks from 2013-17. Millsap's numbers fell off in the last four seasons after joining the Denver Nuggets.

Millsap has played in only one game for the Nets in 2022 and has been ruled out of the last two games due to a "personal" matter. He's already been ruled out for an upcoming game against the San Antonio Spurs for the same reason.

The Nets have the third best record in the Eastern Conference at 28-16, but are expected to be without Kevin Durant for about a month after he suffered a sprained MCL. The team is also getting limited time out of Kyrie Irving, who is only eligible to play road games due to his decision not to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
