Clippers Interested in Pacers’ Daniel Theis After Mason Plumlee Injury
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Clippers are expecting to be without injured backup center Mason Plumlee for up to two months and may be looking for a low-cost veteran replacement, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Pacers backup center Daniel Theis fits that description and the Clippers do indeed have an interest, Charania added.

Plumlee went down with a knee injury during LA’s road loss to New York after Knicks center Julius Randle crashed into Plumlee’s leg. Per Charania, Plumlee suffered an MCL sprain.

Theis, 31, has appeared in seven games this season, averaging about 16 minutes, as well as 7.0 points and 3.1 rebounds. His contract expires at the end of the season, though it includes a team option of $9.5 million for next season.

It has not been determined if the Pacers are looking to trade him, or what they’d be seeking in return if so.
