Chris Paul Sends Important Message to Andrew Wiggins
USA TODAY Sports

If there were two players on the Warriors that needed to play better at the start of the season, it was Chris Paul and Andrew Wiggins. For those reasons alone, Paul made sure to give Wiggins some words of wisdom now that Steph Curry is out.

After the Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night, Chris Paul revealed the advice that he gave Andrew Wiggins before the game - it worked, too.

“I told Wiggs before the game [that] me and him needed to be more aggressive,” Paul said. “I’ve been coming off all these picks and rolls looking to pass every time. I missed a bunch of shots I should have made tonight, but I told Trayce [Jackson-Davis] any time we get the ball he should be looking to set a screen. Our team is a lot different when Steph is out here playing. When he’s out, we have to figure things out.”

The end result was a resounding success for both Chris Paul and Andrew Wiggins against the Spurs. Chris Paul had 19 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 1 steal on 47% shooting from the field. Andrew Wiggins had 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists on 75% shooting from the field. Without Steph Curry available, the Warriors will have to collectively play more aggressively and smarter together. That started tonight with Chris Paul's important advice.
