Celtics Sign G League MVP Runner-Up Neemias Queta
USA TODAY Sports

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Boston Celtics signed Neemias Queta to fill their final two-way opening. JD Davison and Jay Scrubb are the two others who will split their time between Boston and Maine this season.

Queta was the runner-up for MVP in the G League last season. He also earned a G League All-Defensive Team selection. The seven-foot center generated 16.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 68 percent from the field for the Stockton Kings.

The Sacramento Kings selected Queta 39th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft. In 20 appearances with them, spanning two seasons, he averaged 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds.

The 24-year-old from Portugal offers intriguing upside as a young developmental big for the Celtics to work with. The signing is a move Inside The Celtics previously suggested.
