Celtics And Warriors G League Teams Make A Trade
USA TODAY Sports

This week, training camp began around the NBA for all 30 teams.

During this time, teams have players on Exhibit 10 contracts, and there is typically a lot of movement.

Recently, the Boston Celtics signed Jordan Schakel and then waived him.

Via Keith Smith of Spotrac on September 28: "The Boston Celtics signed and waived Brandon Slater today. Boston also waived Taylor Funk and Jordan Schakel.

All three signings were designed around getting the players to the Maine Celtics of the G League this season."

On October 2 (according to the G League's official transaction page), the Santa Cruz Warriors (G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors) traded Schakel to the Maine Celtics (G League affiliate of the Celtics).

In exchange for Schakel, the Santa Cruz Warriors received Noah Kirkwood's G League rights.

Last year, Schakel played two games for the Washington Wizards and 33 G League regular season games for the Santa Cruz Warriors (and Capital City Go-Go).

He averaged 10.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field and 39.9% from the three-point range (he also appeared in 17 Showcase Cup games).

As for Kirkwood, he played for the Long Island Nets (G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets) and averaged 5.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 39.1% from the field and 28.6% from the three-point range in 29 regular season games (he also appeared in three Showcase Cup games and one G League playoff game).
