Boston Celtics Reportedly Sign Recent Wizards Player
USA TODAY Sports

Jordan Schakel is coming off a year where he played two games for the Washington Wizards

The 25-year-old averaged 1.5 points per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field.

In addition to his time in the NBA, he also played in the G League and averaged 10.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field and 39.9% from the three-point range in 33 regular season games (he also appeared in 17 Showcase Cup games).

This summer, Schakel was a free agent, and Keith Smith of Spotrac reports that he will sign a training camp deal with the Boston Celtics (h/t Hoops Rumors).

Via Smith: "The Boston Celtics have signed guard Jordan Schakel to a non-guaranteed training camp contract, a league source told @spotrac."

Schakel initially went undrafted in 2021 after playing his college basketball for San Diego State.

He has played in six NBA games (with the Wizards) and has career averages of 1.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest.

In the G League, Schakel has career averages of 12.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest while shooting 43.6% from the field and 37.0% from the three-point range in 64 games (he has also appeared in one Exhibition game, 31 Showcase Cup games and two G League playoff games).
