Austin Reaves and the full list of NBA players now trade-eligible

It must feel like Groundhog Day for fans of the Los Angeles Lakers. Exactly a year ago, the storied franchise had a 19-24 record following a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers but, to the credit of its front office, managed to turn the season around courtesy of several midseason trades – acquiring the likes of D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt and Rui Hachimura. The moves helped the Lakers make a deep playoff run, all the way to the Western Conference Finals.

Fast forward to a year later, the Lakers (19-21) once again find themselves with a sub .500 record, and reportedly gearing up to make some trades to salvage the season. While the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline is weeks away, the Lakers could get busy wheeling and dealing in the coming days. That’s because two of its players who signed free agent contracts this past offseason – Reaves and Hachimura – are now officially eligible to be traded.

According to Hoops Rumors, the 15 other players who became trade-eligible on Jan. 15 include Miles Bridges (Charlotte Hornets), Ayo Dosunmu (Chicago Bulls), Jerami Grant (Portland Trail Blazers), Cameron Johnson (Brooklyn Nets), Herbert Jones (New Orleans Pelicans), Tre Jones (San Antonio Spurs), Kyle Kuzma (Washington Wizards), Brook Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks), Trey Lyles (Sacramento Kings), Jakob Poeltl (Toronto Raptors), Paul Reed (Philadelphia Sixers), Matisse Thybulle (Portland Trail Blazers), Moritz Wagner (Orlando Magic), P.J. Washington (Charlotte Hornets) and Coby White (Chicago Bulls).

While Lakers' other offseason signees – Russell, Jaxson Hayes, Cam Reddish, Christian Wood and Gabe Vincent – became eligible to be traded on Dec. 15, Vanderbilt can't be traded until March 8 due to a restriction clause in his contract. 

The Lakers have been earmarked as possible suitors for the likes of Zach LaVine and Dejounte Murray. However, Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times has ruled out the likelihood of the Lakers parting with Reaves to acquire either All-Star guard.
