The biggest move for the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline was acquiring Buddy Hield. They acquired the veteran sharpshooter from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Marcus Morris, Furkan Korkmaz, and draft compensation.

Just one day after being traded, Hield saw himself suiting up with his new team for the first time. Between injuries and other trades, Nick Nurse found himself with limited options against the Atlanta Hawks Friday. Hield put together a strong debut, finishing with 20 points and six assists. He also converted four of his 12 attempts from beyond the arc.

After the game, Hield was asked his thoughts about being moved from Indiana to Philly. He said he was glad to be with the Sixers after being connected to the team for years in rumors.

"[My agent] gave me the news and she said there’s a deal about to be set, 75% done and I was like, 'With Philly?' and she’s like yeah and I was like I’ve been hearing that for a long time, but it never happens," Hield said. "But I’m just glad to be here glad to be a Sixer and the fans and everybodys been great and embracing me and all I want to say is I can’t wait to know about the city and for you guys to tell me what to do and where to go and I’m just taking it day by day man."

Before being traded, Hield appeared in 53 games for the Pacers. In that time, he averaged 12.1 PPG while shooting 38.2% from three-point range.
