For the first time since 2012, Ryan Newman is headed back to the NASCAR Xfinity Series. This time with MBM Motorsports in the No. 66. Newman has made his return to NASCAR racing this year. He has had limited runs in the Cup Series this season with Rick Ware Racing.

It remains to be seen if he will be doing double duty with MBM and RWR. We do know that Ryan Newman is in the Xfinity race and that means he’ll race against Dale Earnhardt Jr. It’s going to feel like a little throwback race, folks.

Rocket Man is back in the Xfinity Series and MBM Motorsports is more than happy to have him behind the wheel of their car. It would be fun to see one last pole award from Newman. Generx Generators, Pristine Auction, and more are helping on this car as sponsors.

“Homestead is one of my favorite tracks on the schedule. From being able to rip the fence to having to manage tire wear, the track suits my driving style perfectly,” driver Ryan Newman said. “My goal is to give Carl, MBM Motorsports and their partners a fantastic run and hopefully end the evening in victory lane!”

The last time Newman was in the Xfinity Series was 2012. The driver finished P19 in that race. In his career, Newman has seven victories, 12 poles, and 35 top-10 finishes in the Xfinity Series.

MBM Motorsports is more than happy to have one of the most famous names in NASCAR in their camp. It should be a great partnership.

Ryan Newman coming to Homestead-Miami

Four times Ryan Newman has raced at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the Xfinity Series. His last start was in 2009 for Kevin Harvick Inc. In those four starts, Newman has two top-10s and a win at Homestead. He says it is one of his favorite tracks, and he might have a special performance in store for us.

MBM Motorsports is excited. Team owner Carl Long has a relationship with Newman dating back years.

“I have known Ryan since his rookie season in the Cup Series and when the opportunity presented itself to have him join us in Miami, it was a no brainer to elevate our organization,” team owner Carl Long said. “Having a partner like GenerX Generators come back is not only massive but also give us the opportunity to have Ryan help represent their brand.”

MBM Motorsports competes in the Xfinity Series and has had a history in the Cup Series as well. The last time they were in the Cup Series was in 2022 with the No. 55 car and JJ Yeley. Boris Said also drove the 66 car in 2022 at COTA.

The expectations are likely low, but that means the sky is the limit for Rocket Man.
