The NASCAR Cup Series race in Texas saw Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain ‘s near P2 finish end up turning into a DNF. It occurred due to a last lap after a collision with Hendrick Motorsport driver William Byron . The incident between the pair just seemed to add to issues between Chastain and Hendrick Motorsport drivers.

The incident that saw Ross Chastain hit the wall was during the last lap when Willaim Byron went for an audacious overtake on him. The No.1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 made a move to block and ended up in the wall as the No.43 couldn’t slow his car down instantly. Following the race, fans and pundits were eager to know Chastain’s views on the incident. But, according to Justin Schuoler of Kickin’ The Tires, the driver decided to pass on comments following his discharge from the medical center.

Nevertheless, the incident ruined Ross Chastain’s possible top 5, podium finish whereas William Byron ended up P3 after he was not penalized. Chastain must definitely be frustrated by the result, only time will tell if he decides to talk about it sometime in the near future, or whether he’ll just do his talking on track during the next few races.

Kenny Wallace shares his thoughts on the incident between Ross Chastain and Willliam Byron

Former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace shared his views on the crash which ruined Ross Chastain’s race after the race via his Youtube channel. The 60-year-old defended William Byron and added how he is one of the cleanest wheel-to-wheel drivers in NASCAR and doesn’t wreck people.

He was running high and I think you know what it looked like. He got high, high, high, and he’s like, ‘Oh!’, and he starts letting out of the gas. William Byron does not wreck people… and he just ran… He packed him right in the ass. Yes, he did spin him out. All hell breaks loose. Kenny Wallace said via his YouTube channel.

Wallace seemed to be sure that the Hendrick Motorsport driver made an error in his judgment and something that barely happens to him. The entire situation has left a lot of people sour, some clearly putting the blame on the No.24. Ross Chastain was left understandably frustrated after the race, as Byron was awarded a P3 finish. Wallace believed that the decision not to penalize Byron was fair.
