Report: Kyle Busch to drive for Richard Childress Racing in 2023

Kyle Busch's 15-year run with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) has come to an end. Since signing on with the premier Toyota team in NASCAR, Busch has won two Cup Series championships and more than 40 races. Now, Busch is set to leave the team for greener pastures.

According to The Athletic's Jordan Bianchi, Busch is set to join Richard Childress Racing (RCR) with a formal announcement being made this Tuesday.

By moving to RCR, his relationship with Toyota also is presumably coming to an end. His Truck Series team, Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM), will either have to switch over to RCR's manufacturer Chevrolet, or consider closing its doors.

KBM currently fields three trucks, and drivers who are a part of the team currently are signed to Toyota's Racing Development program and will have to start thinking about their next move for 2023.

RCR is set to lose Tyler Reddick, who is currently scheduled to drive for 23XI Racing in 2024. They've found their replacement in Busch, and Busch finds a home after failed attempt at sponsoring the Las Vegas native forced him to look outside of JGR.
