Kyle Busch claims RCR has 'easier time' at Superspeedways and hopes to end winless streak at Talladega
Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

Two times NASCAR champion Kyle Busch made his RCR debut in 2023 and had a flying start. He won three races with in the first 14 events and considered as one of the main contenders for the title. But the second half of the season turned out to be a nightmare for the team as they failed to match early season runs and witnessed early playoff exit.

Coming into the 2024 season, they had hopes of redemption. But the bad streak continued till last week race at Texas, where Kyle Busch and his teammate Austin Dillon scored top-10s. The team expects this to be the positive momentum they needed going into this Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway.

While talking about the same ahead of the race, Kyle Busch pointed out that just like the most RCR has a good shot at winning the race on Sunday like many on the grid. He also highlighted the edge in terms of speed RCR has on Superspeedway and added that this gives him a better and easier opportunity to be successful.

It’s [an opportunity race] for everybody, right? But I think it is for us as well, too, just having good stuff at these places. It seems the cars have an easier time or a better opportunity of making something [happen] on their own than where I previously was. Kyle Busch said via RACER.

Kyle Busch isn’t concerned about the points

If the 2024 Cup playoff starts right now, both RCR drivers won’t make it into the last 16 due to their poor point tally. But Busch isn’t worried about where they are at the moment in terms of points. He admitted that the team isn’t in the right position as they should, but he has positive hopes for coming events, hence isn’t worry about.

The points will take care of themselves if you run better and run well and can get stage points and get good finishes. We obviously haven’t been doing that lately, and I presume we’re lower than we want to be, but that’s just the nature of what we got right now. Kyle Busch said.

Busch, won the Talladega regular season race last time and seems to be in the right mindset coming to the weekend. He will be starting the race P4 after a good qualifying alongside his teammate Dillon at P4. The duo has bets opportunity to draft together and dominate the race from the start.
