Kyle and Kurt Busch invited by city of Las Vegas for F1 Grand Prix weekend

Among the NASCAR stars at the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix are brothers Kyle and Kurt Busch. The city invited them both. NASCAR’s most successful brothers love racing and they love their hometown of Las Vegas. So, it’s a no-brainer.

NASCAR drivers have been enjoying the offseason in many ways. There are more than a few drivers attending the F1 festivities in Vegas. Kyle Busch is still racing while brother Kurt recently retired officially.

With this time in the offseason, the brothers are getting together again thanks to the city of Vegas.

In a conversation with Susan Wade of AutoWeek, Rowdy talked about the offer from the city.

“The city of Vegas actually called me and said, ‘Hey, would you like to come’ and we’ll give you some passes and whatnot. So I’m like, ‘Yeah, sure. I’ll come.'”

He went on to say he’s “skeptical of the circuit a little bit, just how long some of the straightaways are, but I think it’s going to be cool. It’s going to be fun, so looking forward to seeing it. I enjoy all forms of racing, so to see the F1 guys and what they’re doing is always really cool. Hopefully they put on a great show.”

His brother Kurt recalled their father attending the last F1 race in Las Vegas. Now, he’s after a poster for his nephew Brexton.

Sounds like a huge weekend for Kyle and Kurt Busch in Las Vegas.

Kyle Busch had a good, not great debut season at RCR

Now, looking back on Kyle Busch’s year at RCR, it was solid. Winning the second race of the year, three races total, and making a decent playoff run – that’s good. However, Busch is a champion, two times. He’s not after good, he’s after great.

I think everyone involved should be happy with this first season at RCR. A lot of people didn’t think it could work. It’s no secret the team has struggled to find championships in the last two decades.

Kyle Busch is still a championship-level driver. I could see him making a Championship 4 appearance next season if things work out. In fact, I think Busch is the least of RCR’s worries.

There is a lot of movement in the Xfinity Series program. The Sheldon Creed exit was not pretty, for sure. Austin Dillon seemed to have a miserable time in the Cup Series this year. However, there are some good things going on at RCR besides Busch.

Erebus Motorsports from Australia’s Supercars will have an alliance with RCR next year and moving forward. It’s an initiative to get Erebus involved in NASCAR and bring Brodie Kostecki over for more races.
