Denny Hamlin breaks silence on rumors that 23XI Racing is going to purchase Tony Stewarts’ NASCAR charter

Denny Hamlin has finally addressed these rumours ahead of the potential purchase. He asserted that 23XI is happy with being a two car operation and are not interested about the ongoing rumours. He also added that he had no idea what is happening at Stewart Haas Racing and isn’t concerned about it as well.

There is no charter agreement as far as I'm concerned, so there's nothing to buy or sell. But, 23XI is happy with their two teams currently. So, I don't know what rumors are going on, but certainly 23XI is happy with where they're at right now. Denny Hamlin said.

The No:11 driver won his second race of the 2024 season in his home track Richmond. But soon after the win he heard some unfortunate rumours that the legacy track might lose one of it’s two Cup dates due to poor race product. Hamlin reckons it won’t happen as it is a NASCAR owned track and remined the race nation that short-track racing is a big part of the sport.

Reminder, those are NASCAR-owned tracks, so they're not going to want to leave their own racetracks to go somewhere else and have to pay money to go race somewhere or give up the date, so I would be cautiously optimistic that that's probably not going to happen, but we hope it doesn't because I think short tracks are obviously a big part of what we do. Denny Hamlin said.

The three times Daytona 500 winner in the same interview also applauded NASCAR for finally admitting that they have a short track racing issue and it needs fixing. He believes acknowledging it is the right step towards fixing it and the 23XI bossman is right to think the same.
