Arrow McLaren reveals first look at Kyle Larson’s Indy 500 car
? Adam Cairns/Indianapolis Star / USA TODAY NETWORK

While the attempt is still months away, we now have our first look at Kyle Larson’s Indy 500 ride with Arrow McLaren and his Coca-Cola 600 scheme. The two cars match with HendrickCars.com schemes. However, the usual Larson NASCAR Cup Series look has some added flair.

One of the best combinations in motorsports, as far as paint schemes are concerned, has to be blue and orange. There is nothing that pops more than that combo and it has led to some fantastic schemes in the past.

For the 2024 Memorial Day Weekend Double, Kyle Larson has two great-looking rides. Fresh off winning Knoxville Nationals, Larson is reminding everyone that he is him, as they say.

If these two cars aren’t turned into diecasts, ther might be riots from fans. When you consider the difficulty level of the Indy 500/Coca-Cola 600 double, it almost doesn’t make sense to attempt.

Tony Stewart has been the most successful driver to do it, finishing with two top-10s on two different occasions. In 2001, Stewart completed all 1100 miles for the first time ever, finishing P6 in Indy and P3 at Charlotte.

Kurt Busch was the last one to make the attempt back in 2014. He was P6 in Indy but was unable to complete the 600 after just 271 laps of 400. Can Kyle Larson add his name to that shortlist and perhaps beat Stewart’s all-time best?

Kyle Larson prepared to tackle Indy Road Course

For now, Kyle Larson is planning to have a big day on the Indy Road Course. He will start P6 when the green flag drops and there will be a lot of action in this race. The track hasn’t provided a lot of “great” racing exactly, but this weekend feels different.

You have a big group of bubble drivers starting in the top-10. Daniel Suárez starts on the pole and needs a win to avoid a heartbreaking loss in the points. He’s not alone as Chase Elliott, Michael McDowell, Alex Bowman, and Ty Gibbs all have the same idea in their heads.

Kyle Larson is just focused on running his best race and hopefully, he comes away with another win. Larson has a good chance to get back in the win column and do it against a talented field that includes Shane van Gisbergen and Brodie Kostecki from the Supercars Series.

Can Larson get the road course win about 10 months ahead of his Indy 500 start on the oval?
