Wild World of Fighting: Porta Potty Rumble, Anderson Silva Fights An Amazon Tribe Champion & More
Alex Gould/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

Good morning fight fans, and welcome back to the Wild World of Fighting, a series that is always impressed by your performance.

This week, we take a trip down Anderson Silva's memory lane, see what happens when Macaulay Culkin is not the only one lost in New York, and more. Hopefully you bought tickets, because the Wild World of Fighting is headed for your town.

What's the Opposite of No-Nonsense?

There has been a lot of talk recently, about the quality of the officials who oversee MMA on the highest level, as well as their level of accountability. Nary a major UFC card passes without some sort of scoring or referee controversy making an appearance.

In these moments, it is important to put into context just how good referees are in the UFC, compared to the level of officiating seen at smaller, local MMA events. Take the following video for example, which paints a picture of one of the weirdest non-stoppages you will ever see in the sport.

The Wild World of Fighting likes to semi-regularly highlight lower level MMA events, simply because they hardly disappoint in bizarre and crazy moments. With that in mind, few clips encapsulate that more than this one, with crazy fighting action and nonsensical stoppages.

Rafael Fiziev 2: Lost in New York

For the unaware, New York City is a place that is truly unlike anywhere else in the world. In some ways, this is a good thing that brings major opportunities to people who otherwise may not have them, but in other ways, this leads to just as much (if not more) madness that comes with the territory in large cities.

UFC lightweight contender Rafael Fiziev recently found himself on the bizarre side of NYC, sharing his experience on Instagram. The video would cause a stir, as fans could not help but laugh at the expression on his face, as a stranger dances and sings shirtless in front of him.

Just looking at his face makes it clear that Fiziev, who hails from Kyrgyzstan, is out of his element in a big way. It is entertaining to see how someone who chooses violence for a living can still be caught off guard by something that a New York native would see on a daily basis.

Anderson Silva Fights An Amazon Tribe Champion

While he is still heralded as one of the greatest fighters the sport of MMA has ever seen, the wave of newer fans that started following MMA around the Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey eras or later, have an entirely different view of the career of Anderson Silva. His devotion to living a life of martial arts, combined with the lengthy run he had as a champion, makes him one of the most revered people in combat sports history.

So when older videos begin to make the rounds again, highlighting just how unique and special Silva was, it is certainly worth highlighting on the Wild World of Fighting. Such was the case with this clip from around a decade ago, showing "the Spider" going up against an Amazonian tribe's grappling champion.

The fact that this experience went back and forth between the style of grappling native to that area and the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that Silva is far more familiar with is something to behold. Combine that with Silva's decision to don fight trunks while otherwise dressed up in traditional garb, and this is a video that simply never gets old.

Presidential UFC Fighter

There has long been a connection between United States presidents and combat sports. From Abraham Lincoln being a respected wrestler in his day, to Theodore Roosevelt routinely engaging in fist fights, and even Donald Trump trying to start his own MMA promotion, a connection between the two worlds has always been evident.

Now that connection has gotten even deeper, as a U.S. President has now officially signed to the UFC. After scoring a submission win on Dana White's Contender Series, it was announced that Thomas Jefferson would be awarded with a UFC contract.

Obviously this was a slip-up from the announcer, as the fighter's actual name is Thomas Peterson. Although there may be something to the idea of a president also being a UFC fighter, and it could happen someday (looking at you, Brian Stann).

Porta Potty Punch Out

Attending outdoor events during the hot summer months can see emotions get out of control as people try to make it through the warm conditions. Mix this with the alcohol or other substances found at such events, and people have a tendency to get a bit aggressive.

These fiery emotions came to a head during a Morgan Wallen concert recently, when a brawl broke out at the porta potties. Several women got involved in the action, with one person even busting out of a stall and busting heads with efficiency.

While the cause of this porta potty pounding remains unclear, word on the street is that the toilet avenger jumped into action to protect her mom, who was on the receiving end of the beating. Personally, I don't even like going to the bathroom in one of these, much less getting into a physical confrontation inside of one.

This brings us to the end of the Wild World of Fighting for this week. Tune in next week, where we continue to find more bizarre places for fights to break out.
