Anderson Silva Posts & Deletes Strong Statement After Israel Adesanya Loss: 'Not Going To Open Your Mouth Again To Compare Yourself To Me In This S**t!'

It's no surprise that Israel Adesanya has been compared to Anderson Silva throughout his UFC career.

Not only has "The Last Stylebender" put together a run that some would argue can rival that of "The Spider", the former middleweight champions are two of the best strikers we have ever seen in MMA.

With many fans seeing their fight at UFC 234 as a passing of the torch from Silva to Adesanya, the division was in good hands.

That being said, the debate between who the greatest 185-pounder in UFC history is was always a talking point and with Adesanya reclaiming the belt earlier this year, he looked set to make a real case for being in pole position.

At least for the time being, that conversation has been put on hold by Sean Strickland pulling off a shock upset to dethrone the champion at UFC 293.

After the fight, Silva had a curious post and delete on his Instagram handle, seemingly making it clear where he stands on his position in the legacy of the middleweight division.

Anderson Silva Calls Out Israel Adesanya After His Loss At UFC 293

Posting a message on his Instagram followers, "The Spider" made it clear that he takes his position as the middleweight GOAT very seriously.

"I'm the one in charge of this sh*t here, and you're not going to open your mouth again to compare yourself to me in this sh*t. Do you understand? I'm the one in charge of this sh*t here."

The post, which has since been deleted, came as a shock to fans that haven't ever seen Silva got on the offensive like this in the past, especially against a fighter who he was on good terms with.

Instead, Silva has changed the caption to emojis of skulls and a hawk, accompanying a video of his fight against Patrick Cote with the words "A frase imortalizada Nunca serão jamais serão".

Loosely translated, this reads "immortazlied will never be never be".

Silva currently holds the middleweight record with most consecutive title defenses at ten whilst Adesanya defended his belt five times during his first reign.
