White Sox's Lucas Giolito slams Twins' Josh Donaldson over sticky substances taunt

In the first inning of Tuesday's game between the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins, Josh Donaldson made sure Lucas Giolito heard his comments after crossing home plate.

Donaldson hit a two-run home run off Giolito, and as he was crossing the plate, he could be heard yelling about how Giolito's baseballs aren't sticky anymore thanks to Major League Baseball's new foreign substance policy.

After the White Sox beat the Twins 7-6, Giolito ripped Donaldson for his actions, saying it was classless of him to yell about sticky substances.

"He's a f-----g pest. That's kind of a classless move," the right-hander said, according to James Fegan of The Athletic. "If you're going to talk s--t, talk s--t to my face. Don't go across home plate and do all that, just come to me.

"We won. The W's next to my name. They're in last place."

Donaldson has been one of baseball's top advocates for getting rid of foreign substances. Last month, the Twins slugger pledged to release an "entire catalog" of pitchers cheating. He later questioned why New York Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole saw his spin rates suddenly drop.

MLB began checking pitchers for foreign substances earlier this month. So far, only one pitcher, Seattle Mariners' Hector Santiago, has been ejected and suspended for his alleged use of a foreign substance.
