Trea Turner thanks Phillies fans in unique way

Shorstop Trea Turner is currently in year one of an 11-year, $300M contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. Unfortunately it has been a very uncharacteristic season for him to the point that over the weekend he was demoted to eighth in the batting lineup.

Despite his struggles, lineup demotion and playing in a city that is historically tough on its players, he received a standing ovation from Phillies fans Friday night upon the team's return home.

According to Turner, this kind gesture from Phillies fans was enough to make his mother shed a few tears. Realizing that this is a very unusual circumstance, he decided to thank the fans in a unique way.

In order to thank the fans, Turner bought billboards around Philadelphia that signal his appreciation for the events that transpired.
