The Baltimore Orioles have a ton of things to be excited about this season, and top draft pick Jackson Holliday is just one of them.

Baltimore had the first pick in the 2022 MLB Draft last month, and they took Holliday, who is the son MLB legend Matt Holliday.

Jackson was drafted out of Stillwater High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma and was assigned to the minor leagues.

So far, the Orioles’ top pick is off to a good start.

In today’s FCL Orioles game, Holliday notched his first career extra-base hit.

Two innings later, he belted his first professional home run.

Holliday Collects A Few Firsts

This kid has a bright future.

Unlike his dad, Jackson is a shortstop who hits left-handed, whereas Matt was a right-handed hitter and primarily a left fielder.

But the ability to play baseball runs strong in the Holliday family.

Holliday has set some high goals for himself.

Today, he took his first step towards achieving them.

Not only are the Orioles having a surprisingly successful season, but their top prospects are making noise too.

Holliday is the one to watch if you’re an Orioles fan.

He’s a great hitter who is highly touted and is already making his presence felt.

There’s a reason he was projected to go as the top pick in this year’s draft, and there’s a reason he ended up being that top pick.

There’s a lot to be excited about if you’re a fan of these Orioles.

The future is bright, not just for the team, but for Holliday as well.

Holliday will help usher in the next generation of great players and will be a key factor on future Orioles teams.
