Detroit Tigers pitching prospect Jackson Jobe showed off some major heat in Spring Training on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old right-hander took the mound in the top of the ninth inning against the Minnesota Twins. The Tigers were leading 1-0 at the time, and they needed Jobe to close things out in order to pick up the Grapefruit League victory.

Jobe retired the side with relative ease, forcing a groundout to short and two strikeouts to secure the save.

MLB.com's Sarah Langs compiled the pitch-by-pitch data from Jobe's performance, showing just how nasty his stuff really was.

Jobe tossed 13 pitches, seven of which were swung at. Five of those swings were whiffs, while the other two resulted in a foul ball and a grounder.

The righty also threw three pitches that exceeded 100 miles per hour, topping out at 101.8. His average fastball velocity was 100.2 miles per hour on the day.

Jobe also utilized a cutter, sweeper and changeup.

The Tigers reassigned Jobe to Minor League camp last week, taking him out of the running for an Opening Day roster spot.

MLB Pipeline has Jobe ranked as the No. 3 player and No. 1 pitcher in Detroit's farm system. He has been pegged as the No. 25 prospect in all of baseball, which makes him the third-highest-ranked pitcher in the Top 100.

The Tigers selected Jobe with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. He signed with Detroit for $6.9 million and made his professional debut in 2022.

Jobe is 6-9 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.146 WHIP and 10.5 strikeouts per nine innings across 37 career minor league appearances, all of which have been starts. He has logged just 6.0 innings pitched above High-A, though, making one Double-A outing in 2023.

Still, Jobe thrived in his Spring Training debut Tuesday and could earn an MLB call-up later on in 2024.
