According to Matt Gelb, the Philadelphia Phillies have moved Corey Knebel to the COVID IL and will promote Mark Appel from Lehigh Valley to take his spot.
The move to the IL comes towards the end of a problematic June for Knebel, pitching with an ERA of 3.68 and a FIP of 7.36 with one blown save. Knebel's previous two months have been total opposites from where he started in April.
In his most recent appearance, Knebel went one inning while allowing one walk against the Texas Rangers.
This season, Appel's stint with the IronPigs has been phenomenal, earning five saves with an ERA of 1.61 and an RA9 of 1.93. If Appel makes an appearance during his time with the Phillies, it will be his major league debut.
