Report: A's acquire Elvis Andrus from Rangers for Khris Davis

Elvis Andrus is now an Oakland Athletic.

According to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, the A's acquired Andrus from the Texas Rangers in exchange for Khris Davis.

Andrus is owed $14 million in 2021 and 2022, and his $15 million club option for 2023 becomes a player option with the trade, according to Rosenthal. Davis is owed $16.75 million in 2021 and then becomes eligible for free agency.

Andrus had spent his entire 12-year career with the Rangers. The two-time All-Star has struggled over the last couple of seasons, especially in 2020. Last season, the 32-year-old slashed .194/.252/.330 with three home runs and seven RBI.

Davis, meanwhile, spent the last five seasons in Oakland after three seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. The 33-year-old slashed .200/.303/.329 in 2020 with two homers and 10 RBI.
