MLB HR props for Thursday 8/17: That's gold, as in Goldschmidt

There are only six games on the MLB schedule Thursday, but that doesn't mean we can't find any valuable bets to target. Let's gun for a juicy payout with my three favorite home run props for Thursday's slate.

Paul Goldschmidt (+450 DraftKings)

Paul Goldschmidt is in the midst of a power slump, as he's cracked only one home run in his last 70 at-bats, but I think he has a great chance to turn that around Thursday night. In 17 career ABs against New York Mets starter Jose Quintana, Goldschmidt is batting .647 with three homers, three doubles, and a triple. This is the best hitter-pitcher matchup on the Thursday slate, and +450 is more than a fair price on Goldy.

Justin Turner (+420 FanDuel)

Washington Nationals starter Patrick Corbin has been touched up for seven home runs over his last five starts, so I have no problem fading him Thursday. Justin Turner leads the Boston Red Sox in slugging percentage against left-handers this season (.547), and he's hit two home runs in his last four games. The wind will also be blowing out to left field at Nationals Park, so that should give Turner an extra boost if he gets one in the air.

Christian Yelich (+520 FD)

Los Angeles Dodgers starter Lance Lynn is an auto fade in home run props every time he takes the mound. The right-hander has surrendered the most homers in MLB this season (32), and he's given up 10 dingers over his last six starts. Christian Yelich is batting .306 and slugging .506 against right-handers this year, and he's hit 13 of his 16 homers against righties. The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder has also tagged Lynn for two home runs in 15 career at-bats against him.
