STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State Bulldogs clinch the series over Evansville with an 8-3 win in game two. Khal Stephen continued the trend of good starts for the Bulldogs as he pitched six scoreless innings.

Dakota Jordan also continued his hot streak, hitting another home run and driving in four runs. The Bulldogs continue their hot streak and have a chance to sweep the series tomorrow with SEC play on the horizon.

MSU will go for the sweep tomorrow at 1 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

Last time out, Purple Aces: Evansville narrowly defeated Purdue Fort Wayne 10-9 in their fourth game of the series. The Purple Aces took three out of four.

Last time out, Bulldogs: Mississippi State had their most impressive win of the season in their previous 5-4 win over Southern Miss. A disastrous first inning put the Bulldogs in an early 4-0 deficit. However, Bulldogs relievers pitched eight scoreless after that, and a seven-inning home run by Dakota Jordan led MSU to their sixth straight win.
