Luis Campusano's Season is Over, Joe Musgrove Moves to 60-Day IL
USA TODAY Sports

With two games left before the start of what is shaping up to be a seismic offseason, the Padres had a couple more roster moves to make on Saturday afternoon. The club announced that catcher Luis Campusano was placed on the 10-day injured list, ending his season. Minor league catcher Chandler Seagle was called up from Triple-A to take his place on the active roster.

To make room on the 40-man, RHP Joe Musgrove was transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day IL.

There's no reported injury for Campusano who has been out of the lineup for most of the last week. Brett Sullivan has started in his place while the club's other veteran catcher, Gary Sanchez's season ended with an injury earlier this month.

Seagle will be making his major league debut when if he gets into one of these next two games for the Friars. He was a 30th round draft pick by the Padres back in 2017.

And with Musgrove, he was shut down earlier this month as the playoff odds slipped out of favor for the late surging San Diego ballclub. He's fully healthy now and expected to have a normal offseason.

The Padres and White Sox face off this afternoon at 4:10 PM PT.
