Louisville Baseball Reveals 2024 Schedule

The University of Louisville baseball program has released its schedule for the upcoming 2024 spring season. The Cardinals will face a challenging 56-game slate, including 35 games at Jim Patterson Stadium. Head coach Dan McDonnell, now in his 18th season, has put together a schedule that includes matchups against 30 teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season.

Among the 14 NCAA Tournament teams on Louisville’s schedule, two reached the College World Series, two others made it to the Super Regionals, and four more reached the Regional finals. McDonnell has consistently led the Cardinals to success, and this schedule will test his team’s mettle.

The season kicks off on February 16 in Tampa, Florida, as part of a four-team round-robin event at the University of South Florida. This opening weekend will feature games against USF, Indiana State, and UConn, all of which have reached a Super Regional in the past three seasons.

After the season opener, the Cardinals will return home for 18 consecutive games at Jim Patterson Stadium. This pre-conference slate includes three-game weekend series against St. Bonaventure, Youngstown State, and Northwestern. There will also be a two-game midweek series against Lipscomb. Additionally, Louisville will host midweek games against Xavier, Eastern Kentucky, and Morehead State.

ACC play begins on March 15-17 with a home series against Virginia Tech. The Cardinals will have five ACC home series in total, hosting NC State, Virginia, Clemson, and Notre Dame throughout the season. They will hit the road to face Wake Forest, Florida State, Miami, Boston College, and North Carolina in ACC action.

The annual rivalry games against in-state rival Kentucky are set for April 2 in Lexington and April 16 in Louisville. The Cardinals will also take on Vanderbilt on May 7 for the Battle of the Barrel and will host Indiana on May 14.

In addition to conference and rivalry matchups, Louisville will have other non-conference games. They will play home games against Bellarmine, Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky, as well as home-and-home midweek games against Western Kentucky.

For fans looking to catch the action at Jim Patterson Stadium, season tickets are available for purchase. A partial ticketing model will be implemented, where all non-conference games, except Kentucky and Indiana, will be free. Season tickets for the 17 ticketed contests, including ACC games and the rivalry matchups, start at just $55.
