Latest Injury Updates On Rangers Infielders Corey Seager, Josh Jung, and Nathaniel Lowe
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung, who has been out of action since straining his left calf on Feb. 16, is expected to be back in the lineup by the end of spring training.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Jung, 26, is likely to be available for the final two spring games against the Boston Red Sox on March 25-26 at Globe Life Field.

Shortstop Corey Seager, 29, who had sports hernia surgery on Jan. 30, took some light swings on Monday, but his potential return date is still unknown.

"I can answer better [on Seager] in a week or so," Bochy said.

Jung started swinging in the cage two weeks ago and has since taken some ground balls. The main concern with his recovery is running. The training staff doesn't want him reinjuring the calf by rushing back too quickly.

"He's coming around. We think he'll be good to go in those exhibition games," Bochy said. "That's the plan. He feels good. We're just taking it easy to avoid the setbacks, but he's doing very well."

First baseman Nathaniel Lowe, 28, strained his right oblique while hitting last week and is out for several weeks, likely including at least the first week of the regular season.

"It sucks," Lowe told reporters. "Climbing up the list, creating value for myself and making money, and now getting paid to do nothing is pretty slimy, so I don't love it. It's something that's new for me, and we'll take it in stride."
