Halos Shockingly Call Up Another Prospect Straight From Double-A
USA TODAY Sports

The Angels have called up another young prospect straight from Double-A.

Kyren Paris is a middle infielder who was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in 2019 in the 2nd round from Freedom High School.

The 21-year-old is reportedly being called up straight from Double-A as the Angels roster has seen a lot of vacancies open up after the wave of waived players that took the Halos by storm.

The waived players include players like Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, and Matt Moore who are all on the Cleveland Guardians now.

Hunter Renfroe stays in red but it is for the Cincinnati Reds joining that team for a playoff push while Dominic Leone goes back to the team that drafted him in the Seattle Mariners as they look to hold on to their division lead.

These moves have opened up many new spots on the roster that young pieces can fill to get some MLB experience in a season that is tossed away by Arte Moreno.

We have already seen young players like Zach Neto, Ben Joyce, and most recently Nolan Schanuel be called up by the organization rather quickly, so the arrival of Paris is not out of the ordinary.

In 113 games for the Rocket City Trash Pandas, Paris has hit to the tune of a .255 batting average and an OPS of .810. The young infielder has an on-base percentage of .393 which is quite impressive considering the lower batting average.

That is due to Paris' 88 walks he has tallied, he also has tallied, however, 151 strikeouts on the year.

The patience at the plate is most likely a reason for his end-of-the-year call-up as the Halos want to see Paris in action in Anaheim before the year is done.
