Dodgers spokesperson responds to viral flooding photos

This is the first time a hurricane has made landfall in California in 84 years. The last time a tropical storm made landfall in Southern California was September 25, 1939, according to the National Weather Service.

However, Dodgers spokesperson Joe Jareck told SFGate editors Dennis Young and Tessa McLean that the images that people have been seeing online are misleading.

"The stadium is fine and open for business as usual," according to the report. "I just see a very wet parking lot."

Jareck added that he had "no idea" what was behind the viral photographs.

The Dodgers' official X account (formerly known as Twitter) alluded to the wild weather and apparent misconceptions with a post on Monday afternoon.

Three MLB games (the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays vs. Los Angeles Angels and Miami Marlins vs. Dodgers) rescheduled their Sunday contests and played doubleheaders on Saturday instead.

Additionally, the L.A. Galaxy-Real Salt Lake and LAFC-Colorado Rapids games slated for Sunday night were moved to Oct. 14 and Wednesday respectively.

The Dodgers start a six-game road trip on Tuesday night against the Cleveland Guardians, while the Padres are scheduled to begin a three-game home series vs. the Miami Marlins on Monday. The Angels (who play in Anaheim) were supposed to open a three-game home set against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday, but that won't be happening.
