The Arizona Diamondbacks have named infielder Deyvison De Los Santos and right-handed pitcher Billy Corcoran as their Minor League Players of the Month.

Deyvision De Los Santos, a 20-year-old prospect from the Dominican Republic, has been on a tear in AA with the Amarillo Sod Poodles. Building upon a strong 2023 season at the plate, he has begun this season with a .376 batting average, accompanied by a 1.144 OPS.

Primarily stationed at 1st base, De Los Santos has already notched at least three hits in five different games in 2024. Moreover, since the start of May, he has smacked four home runs, bringing his season tally to 11. To provide perspective, should he maintain this pace for 130 games, De Los Santos would conclude the year with 61 home runs.

Deyvision De Los Santos is presently ranked as the Diamondbacks’ 14th prospect. He was also named Texas League Player of the Month by MiLB.

On the other hand, Billy Corcoran has been delivering comparable results, but on the mound for the Hillsboro Hops in High A. Originally drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 36th round of the 2018 draft, Corcoran declined, opting instead to play four years at the University of Pittsburgh.

Corcoran then signed a minor league deal with the D-backs in 2023. Thus far this season, through four starts, he has posted a 2.53 ERA and has struck out 28 batters in 21 innings. The 24-year-old’s most impressive outing came on April 23rd when he surrendered just two hits in a six-inning shutout.
