Burn City Best Bets: Diamondbacks-Cubs Game Two

Tonight, at 5:10 pm PST the Diamondbacks and Cubs are set to square off for their second of a three game set. In the first game of the series last night the Diamondbacks won 6-4. Todays game has the Chicago Cubs as the favorite with a -118 money line. Game two also features a pitchers duel of Zach Davies and Kyle Hendricks.

Game lines

The Diamondbacks money line is currently set at -108, and coming off of a stellar day at the plate yesterday. Arizonas money line is a little suspicious, just because I know it’s hard to beat a team fives. The Diamondbacks have a 4-1 record against the Cubs on the year, moving to 5-1 is going to be very difficult. Instead I would take the Cubs +1.5 at plus money. Cubs +1.5 is currently set at +145. I also like the under on 0.5 runs in the first inning at +100.

Pitcher props

Zach Davies is one of the few Diamondbacks pitchers it feels like that the Cubs didn’t see about a week ago. Davies has gathered four wins over his last five starts, two against some of the top clubs in the league. In Davies last start he got a win against the Mets (4-3). Zach Davies currently has a strikeout line of 3.5 and I like the over at +110. Davies has struck out more than 3.5 hitters in three of his last five starts, including his most recent one. I also like the over on 4.5 hits for Davies at +100. He has gone over in three of his previous five starts.

Hitter props

Corbin Carroll has a hits line at 1.5 and its +190 for him to go over. I like that play, I think Corbin Carroll will fair well against Hendricks. Tommy Pham is also plus money to go over 1.5 total bases, which I like. Pham is coming off of a great series in New York, book it.
