Braves Briefing: Former pitcher talks up Ronald Acuña

The Atlanta Braves have a special player in Ronald Acuña and former players see it too.

Former Atlanta relief pitcher Jonny Venters spoke very highly of Acuña last week on the Braves Today Podcast.

"I got to play with him, he was young, it might have been his rookie year or second year," Venters said. "The talent is undeniable. Actually, I got to play with him and Juan Soto when he was very young and the talent for both of them was off the charts.
Acuña plays hard every day. I know he had some hiccups early on, you know where he'd hit a ball that he thought was a homer and he didn't run it out and it got him dialed in from that. His talent is generational. It doesn't come around often. To do what he did this year with the homers and stolen bases, it's never been done before."

89 days. Atlanta's expected to ask pitchers and catchers to report on Monday, February 12th, in advance of their first spring training game on February 24th against the Tampa Bay Rays. An official announcement of the reporting date will come in January.
