Boise State Football: Florida A&M DB Tevin Griffey, Son of Ken Griffey Jr., Will Transfer To Broncos

The Mountain West champions have added a strong defensive piece with a big league pedigree. 

Boise State football announced on Thursday afternoon that Florida A&M defensive back Tevin Griffey will join the program. Tevin Griffey is the son of baseball hall-of-fame outfielder Ken Griffey Jr.

The Broncos are coming off a season where they won eight games and defeated UNLV in the Mountain West title game. Former defensive coordinator Spencer Danielson was named the program's full-time head coach after taking over in the interim for the fired Andy Avalos.

At FAMU, Griffey played in 12 games for the Rattlers in 2023. He totaled 13 tackles on the season with an interception against Prairie View A&M, which he returned for a touchdown. 

Griffey played high school football in Orlando, Florida at Dr. Phillips High School, where he was a three-star commit in the class of 2020. He will be reportedly be a preferred walk-on for the Broncos, per Jay Tust of KTVB. Griffey will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
