Another Potential Dodgers Free Agent Target Signs With Angels

The Los Angeles Dodgers missed out on another free agent reliever, as left-handed pitcher Matt Moore has signed with the Los Angeles Angels.

ESPN's Jeff Passan reported the Angels and Moore agreed to a one-year, $9 million contract for the 2024 season.

The 34-year-old is coming off a whirlwind of a 2023 season, which he spent with three different teams, including the Angels.

In 50 appearances in 2023, he recorded a 5-1 record with a 2.56 ERA, 60 strikeouts, and a 1.16 WHIP in 52.2 innings pitched.

It is no secret the Halos needed to bolster their bullpen this offseason, and Moore will do just that. Additionally, the Halos added Robert Stephenson last week, one of the best relievers on the free agency market.

The Dodgers still need to add some relief help, and the loss of Moore makes it three relievers whom they lost out on in the last week.

There are still some options on the market, including their own free agent Ryan Brasier. However, if they cannot add another reliever, specifically a lefty, they'll need to rely on the likes of Alex Vesia and Caleb Ferguson for the 2024 season.
