North Carolina vs. Pitt: The Tar Heels took two of three games against the Panthers in their weekend series. The two teams split a doubleheader on Saturday with North Carolina winning the first game 7-2. Autumn Owens hit two home runs and had three RBI in that first game. Abby Settlemyre also this a three-run home run and also had a triple for the Tar Heels. Pitt got the 8-2 win in the second game. Kylie Griggs went 2-4 with four RBI, which included a three-run homer in the fourth inning. Desirae Martinez was 2-2 with two RBI and a solo home run. Owens hit her third home run of the day with a solo shot for UNC, and Lexi Goodwin also hit a solo homer. In the rubber match on Sunday, North Carolina took care of business with an 8-1 win. Owens hit her fourth home run of the weekend with a three-run blast in the sixth inning. Settlemyre also hit her second home run in two days with a solo shot, and she finished the game going 4-4 with four runs scored and an RBI. UNC's Kenna Raye Dark pitched a complete game on Sunday, giving up one earned run on six hits while striking out two batters.
