Robert Griffin III comes up with a genius way to increase sales for Madden '25 using Taylor Swift
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

This season saw the true impact of the Taylor Swift effect across the NFL.

And the league did not hesitate to lean into it fully. So with the release of Swift's new album, 'The Tortured Poets Department,' Former quarterback and ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III came up with the perfect way for the league to increase sales on their popular video game.

"Taylor Swifts’ new album The Tortured Poets Department SHATTERED the Spotify record for most streamed album in a single day in 2024 in less than 12 hours. There is no doubt that this Madden Cover would lead to the greatest selling Madden Game of all time," Griffin wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Since Swift went public with her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, viewership during NFL games skyrocketed. And specifically during the Chiefs matchups, with Swifties tuning in, hoping to catch a glimpse of the singer.

When the Super Bowl rolled around and the Chiefs fought their way into the big game, Swift of course made an effort to get to Las Vegas to cheer them on.

And because of that, Super Bowl LVIII was the most-watched telecast in history, with an average of 123.4 million viewers watching across all platforms. And in total, more than 200 million viewers tuned in at some point.

The best part of it all was Swift was only shown for 54 seconds on the broadcast, which was a total of less than one percent.

So a Madden cover with Swift on it would truly show how much the NFL is loving her impact.
