Like every college bowl game, there is a sponsorship attached to it and the 2024 Arizona Bowl has a new alias that connects football with a rap icon – the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop.

On Sunday night, hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg teased on X (formerly Twitter) that he had something planned in Arizona and mentioned University of Arizona head coach Brent Brennan.

“I’m taking my talents 2 Arizona @CoachBrennan,” Snoop Dogg said.

While he has no concerts in Arizona on the 2024 calendar and is involved in his Los Angeles-based Snoop Youth Football League, there was no indication of where this was heading before the sponsorship deal pieced the collaboration together.

“Being a fan, coach, supporter of all levels of the game, I have sent many players from my SYFL to college and the NFL,” Snoop Dogg said in a video on X. “So it is only fitting that I step up and help this thing get right. I am ready to bring the juice to college football. I am taking my talents to Arizona. I am here to announce the collaboration, the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop… I’ll be there, will you be there?”

Snoop Dogg’s canned cocktail company refers to his song “Gin & Juice” in 1994 which was produced by Dr. Dre – another legend in the musical scene. Both Snoop and Dre launched the product together, hence the name of the bowl game.

According to Yahoo! Sports, this will be the first time a bowl game will be sponsored by an alcohol company.

The Arizona Bowl normally includes teams from the Mid-American and the Mountain West conferences. Last year, Wyoming just edged out the victory over Toledo, 16-15.

At Arizona Stadium in Tucson, the game will be on Dec. 28 at 2:30 p.m. MST. No details on what television station will broadcast it, at the time of reporting.
