USC Football: Insider Appraises Fit Of Transfer CB From Pac-12 Rival
USA TODAY Sports

The USC Trojans have been dealing with a myriad of players entering the transfer portal, or those who are declaring for the NFL Draft. One of the biggest position groups that has been hit is the secondary, which has now lost 3 of the 5 starters.

Calen Bullock and Max Williams both revealed they are entering the NFL Draft. Though things may have looked bleak, the Trojans were lucky enough to bring over secondary help from rival UCLA.

One such acquisition is John Humphrey. Humphrey is a huge pickup and R.J. Abeyita has provided his assessment of Humphrey.

"Humphrey arrived in Westwood from the same Pasadena (Calif.) John Muir program that produced USC safety Calen Bullock. Humphrey finished his prep career as a 247Sports four-star and composite three-star (No. 391 overall) in the class of 2020. UCLA beat out Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, and California among others for Humphrey’s commitment. The 6-foot-2, 176-pounder now tips the scales at 205 pounds after four years in college."

The good news is that Humphrey has packed on a little over 20 lbs since entering college, meaning he can bully receivers and come down with crucial interceptions.

Humphrey also comes from the same program that Calen Bullock did, so that's a huge plus. It's almost as if USC was able to replace Bullock with a player who is nearly identical in stats and stature.

This is huge considering Bullock is heading for the draft.
